Lonnie Tristan Renteria is a scholar, activist, creative type. He comes from very humble beginnings. He brings that experience to his work. He has worked hard to marry all his passions. When he is not teaching, he is engaged in community building events, reading a book, writing or watching films. He has a ten year plan for film. He has been invited to work on a few documentaries currently in pre-production stages and has three features of his own he would like to complete within that time frame. Ebony Chunky Love is his first "commerical" film. He teaches French, Spanish, Cultural and Critical Theory, Québécois Literature and Culture. He eventually would like to teach film classes. He has received many accolades and has been invited to speak at many events namely about issues of ethnic diasporas and enfranchisement of marginalized people. His was currently selected by Artist Trust Seattle to participate in a prestigious professional development fellowship. |
